A baby’s #1 tip to getting the best skin of your life

Have you ever seen a baby and just thought to yourself “wow…drop the skincare routine”? Well, here at cocokind, we’re committed to the investigative work; we’ve asked the questions and now have the answers. We interviewed a group of babies to get their top tips for soft, smooth, and ageless skin. On top of being merely a year old, they all equate their perfect skin to one thing, baby food. Baby food comes in many styles and flavors, but it is clear that eating purees can do wonders for your skin.

Inspired by this discovery, our product development team set out to harness the power of baby food in an ultra-luxurious food-for-face mask. After years of perfecting this magical, wrinkle-erasing potion, we are so excited to announce that our time-reversal baby food mask is coming this summer. This banana-based puree will take your skin back 30+ years to give you back the skin you had on day one

*Disclaimer: face mask will only work if you avoid smiling, frowning, raising your eyebrows, or generally enjoying life.*

Did we forget to say April Fools…? While this might be a spoof on anti-aging marketing and crazy beauty filters, we’re almost certain this isn’t far off from legitimate campaigns or products that you have seen in the past. When searching for tips for aging skin, many of the tactics claiming to reduce wrinkles or “prevent aging” (which is impossible) are downright ridiculous, like “avoiding the same facial expressions consistently”....like what???

Discussing maturing skin shouldn’t be a taboo topic; the truth of the matter is that as you age, your skin will naturally undergo several changes, most noticeably after the age of 30. Everyone's skin ages differently, and some people may experience these changes more or less than others. This is more than just what skincare you use - lifestyle and genetics play the BIGGEST factor! How you decide you want to address your skin as you age is up to you.

What we find incredibly important is being transparent about what skincare can and can’t do for your skin. Where we feel like we can make a difference is in addressing dark spots, hyperpigmentation (to an extent), the appearance of fine lines, and the loss of collagen. Where we, as a topical skincare company, cannot make as big of an impact are on getting rid of existing wrinkles, long-term hyperpigmentation, and getting your skin back to peak-baby-collagen-levels. So no, we will not be launching a time-reversal baby mask to turn back time, but here are the things we can actually help you with and how they work!

Retinol: derivatives of vitamin A known for their ability to boost collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. We’ve been in the lab working on our retinol and are excited to launch this fall and share it with our community! Sign up for our newsletter here to get notified when it launches.

Ceramides: this is like the mortar in your skin’s brick wall. The more you have the mortar filled in, the less you lose water and plumpness in your skin. Lipids help maintain a strong skin barrier, which keeps the good stuff in and bad stuff out.  Ceramide barrier serum includes five types of ceramides and lipids to seriously hydrate skin leaving skin noticeably comfortable and moisturized.

Peptides: short chains of amino acids that can help stimulate collagen production, which can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Resurrection polypeptide cream instantly restores skin's moisture levels with its hydrating ingredients but also signals your skin and encourages its own collagen in the long term.

SPF filters: active ingredients in sunscreen that work to absorb, reflect, or scatter the sun's harmful UV radiation which damages the skin's elastin fibers and can cause hyperpigmentation. This is SUCH an important one that anyone at any age should work into their routine. Daily SPF is a mineral-based SPF 32 that uses non-nano zinc oxide to protect skin against UVA and UVB rays. This is necessary to keep collagen, hydration, and minimize the risk of dark spots and worsening hyperpigmentation.

Vitamin C: a powerful antioxidant that can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. Our vitamin C glow serum is paired with azelaic acid to reduce the look of dark spots over time, improving uneven skin tone.

Aging is a privilege and we hope that when you’re here with us, whether on our website, social, or in your home using your favorite cocokind products that you feel supported and accepted as you are!
