how to use cocokind on your… armpits?

We all sweat. We’ve all worn the wrong shirt in the wrong temperature and dealt with the consequences. We’ve all had sweat stains. The existence of sweat is a fact of life, but that doesn’t mean that using toxic deodorants is your only way to deal with it.

The average conventional deodorant typically uses some form of aluminum as an antiperspirant, which effectively stops the underarm area from sweating. However, studies have shown that aluminum can easily be absorbed into the body, through the skin, where it can impact your hormones, and with that, your health.

So, if you opt to use deodorant, we recommend choosing natural, aluminum and harsh chemical-free formulas. But in a pinch, you can also repurpose some of your favorite cocokind products to keep your underarms feeling fresh. Here are a few ways how.

calming powder

It’s so much more than just a baby powder or a dry shampoo. Our soothing blend of organic arrowroot powder, chamomile powder, calendula powder, and aloe powder, helps absorb excess moisture while also providing therapeutic benefits that calm and soothe the skin.

A little calming powder under your arms will help absorb excess sweat and moisture, thus reducing the likelihood of visible sweat stains. It will also help soothe the skin and prevent chafing and irritation.

raspberry vinegar toner

We created this product specifically for oily or acne-prone skin, because it helps reduce excess oil and sebum while also unclogging pores (all factors that can cause breakouts!). Our raspberry vinegar toner uses fermented raspberries to deliver natural acetic acid to skin, balancing its pH, and leaving it soothed and purified.

And that goes for the skin in your armpits, too. A few spritzes of raspberry vinegar on a cotton pad will help eliminate excess sweat, oil, and bacteria. As you may know, body odor is caused by the interaction of sweat and bacteria - bacteria can break down proteins in your sweat, transforming them into acids, and causing the dreaded BO.

Using a little toner to eliminate underarm bacteria, especially before you start sweating, can help you keep your armpits smelling and feeling much fresher. And bonus - taking extra care of the skin under your arms can also help prevent ingrown hairs!
