For many (us included), summer means swimming, picnicking, hiking, and a whole lot of other outdoor activities - that’s what makes it so much fun! However, spending more time outside can quickly transform sunkissed skin into sunBURNED skin.
Before you run to the store for aloe vera or stick your face in the fridge (we’ve all done it), try soothing your sunburn with this easy, 3-ingredient, do-it-yourself face mask recipe. You’ll love the way it smells - and the way your skin feels after.
what do I need to make it?
sweet potato
When applied topically, sweet potato can help draw heat away from sunburned skin, alleviating some of the discomfort, and supporting the healing process.
Ingesting it is also great for helping protect skin against future sunburns - sweet potato is packed with antioxidant beta-carotene, which has been proven to help reduce susceptibility to UV damage, according to a study conducted at the Institute of Environmental Medicine of Dusseldorf. And, it’s delicious!
organic coconut milk
Coconut milk is rich in fatty acids that help deeply moisturize and nourish sunburned skin. It also offers a unique cooling effect that can help soothe the dryness and itchiness that accompanies sunburns.
Our facial repair oil helps restore moisture to dry, sunburned skin, with the help of deeply nourishing avocado, coconut, and rosehip oils.
