What Is The Cocokind Impact Foundation?
The Cocokind Impact Foundation provides financial grants to female entrepreneurs in health, wellness, and sustainability industries who are focused on creating social impact through business. Our foundation is set up by cocokind and managed through Philanthropic Ventures Foundation (PVF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN number 94-3136771.
How Much Is The Grant?
The Cocokind Impact Foundation is providing grants of $2,500 to $10,000 to enable our female founders with the financial assistance needed to further their business and social impact.
In Addition To The Grant, What Else Does The Program Entail?

Every recipient will receive:

  • An initial 1-2 hour face-time session with members of the Cocokind Impact team to plan out executable steps once you receive your grant. Of course, we’ll always be on your team and we hope to have continued conversation for a very long time!
  • A matched mentor. We’ll match you up with a mentor in our network who we believe can have the greatest impact on your business. All the members of our mentor network are successful founders who are leaders in the wellness space. The mentor will be available for four one-hour calls with you for the year after receiving your grant!
  • You’ll be featured on our Cocokind Impact website, Cocokind Social Media channels, and you and your business will have access to our PR network when you win the grant and become a “Woman of Impact” in our foundation.

Who Are The Cocokind Impact Mentors?
Every grantee will be matched up with one Impact Mentor in the first year after being selected. All of our mentors have significant experience building businesses. While all of our Impact Mentors are leaders in the wellness space, we’ll match you up with a specific mentor who we believe can have the greatest impact on your business.

Who Is Eligible To Apply For The Grant?

Applicants must be women, US residents, and 18 years or older. Additionally, applicants must not have raised institutional capital yet. Our goal is to help assist companies in the “pre-seed” stage.

The female entrepreneurs must be focused on the health, wellness, or sustainability industries, and must also have a goal to create greater social impact through their business.

What Constitutes As Having A Social Mission?
The business must have a greater social mission that is baked into their business model. This could come in the form of a commitment to financially donating to social cause, supporting causes directly or indirectly through the core business, or partnering with various social impact groups.
Why Are We Only Accepting Pre-Raise Companies?
We believe there are many entrepreneurs who don’t make it to the stage of being able to raise institutional capital. Many founders are held back by not having the initial capital to launch their businesses, and they also may not have enough financial history to be accepted for a business loan. We want to help this area of women who have extremely high potential to make a large impact through their business but need some financial assistance in the beginning stages – without the expectation of anything in return except that they pay the “impact” forward.
What Information Is Needed To Apply?

Please fill out our short application here. Our application will include:

  1. A three-minute video of yourself explaining your business and why you think you should be awarded the grant
  2. A proposal of what you will do with the funds granted. Please provide an itemized projection or as much detail as possible on what you plan on using this for. The more detailed your breakdown, the better!
  3. A one-page write-up of your social mission and what impact you hope to have on your greater community
  4. A sample of your product (where applicable) sent to Cocokind at 498 5th Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, ATTN: COCOKIND IMPACT FOUNDATION

Will I Have to Submit A W9 Form?

Yes. Awards and Prizes to individuals are taxable, and are required to be included in gross income by the award recipient.

What Is Required If I Am Awarded The Grant?
The only requirement we have is that you pay it forward the best ways you can. We’ll be facilitating a one-hour networking call with one other recipient every quarter for you. Our goal is to help you develop a strong network of female entrepreneurs who support you and whom you support.
How Are Grantees Selected?
