the retinol alternative you’ve been waiting for

say hello to our resurfacing sleep mask, formulated with bakuchiol!

Get your mask on, catch some Zzs, and wake up with renewed skin. Our resurfacing sleep mask centers around bakuchiol, which is derived from the seeds of the babchi plant, and has been a staple in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for centuries.

It's essentially a plant-derived retinol alternative; it helps smooth skin, soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and brighten the appearance of dark spots and discoloration, leaving skin bright, even, and youthful-looking.

Basically, it’s time to kiss your harsh, barrier-stripping retinols goodbye!

Our formula also uses wild indigo extract to activate your skin’s natural anti-stress functions and diminish visible signs of fatigue in the skin, especially due to stress - we’re talking dark circles, surface redness, and dullness.

Finally, beta-glucan locks in hydration and supports your skin’s barrier function, which also helps reduce surface dryness and sensitivity.

Over time, this gentle cocktail of brightening, hydrating, and firming actives leaves your skin even, smooth, and glowing. And it does all of this while you sleep.

here’s what else is in it:

Good ol’ H2O serves as the liquid base of this mask, acting as a solvent and improving our formula’s texture and spreadability.

This plant-derived, soy-free humectant draws in moisture and retains it in the skin.

cucumber water

Moisturizing cucumber water offers a soothing cooling effect as well as a light, refreshing aroma.

glyceryl stearates

This plant-derived mixture of glycerin and stearic acid, which can be found naturally in the human body, helps stabilize our formula, reduce evaporation, and allow our mask to offer a residue-free rinse-off.

radish root ferment

Derived from radishes fermented with the same lactic acid used to make Korean kimchi, this natural preservative helps prevent microbial growth in our formula.

This plant-derived compound, which is naturally produced by glands in the skin, helps condition and nourish.

Commonly found in plants and algae, this compound helps thicken and improve the texture of our formula.

baobab oil

This antioxidant-packed emollient helps support your skin’s elasticity, promoting a supple, plumped look and feel. It’s also rich in fatty acids, vitamin E, and vitamin A.

jojoba seed oil

Jojoba seed oil helps balance excess oil in the skin while also nourishing and soothing.

Instead of using artificial, synthetic colorants, our formula uses caramel. Made by heating sugar, which acts as a natural humectant, caramel gives our mask its soft, warm color.

sodium dehydroacetate

This gentle, baby-safe preservative helps prevent bacterial and fungal growth.

citric acid

This natural alpha hydroxy acid helps adjust the pH of our formula.

how to use

At night, after cleansing, toning, and spritzing our glow essence, apply an even layer of mask to clean skin, keeping clear of eyes and lips. Leave on overnight and rinse off in the morning. Use up to 3-4 times a week, Enjoy!

If I have Celiac and can’t have any gluten am I safe to use these products?

Hi Alyssa! We don’t recommend layering the chia oil over this product because it may cause it to pill. This mask is nourishing on its own, but if you’d like to layer on a moisturizer for extra hydration, we’d recommend opting for a cream!

Alyssa Pettingill on

If chia facial oil is my typical go-to after I use my facial cleansing oil and toner, would I skip that piece when I use this mask a few times a week?

Hi Charlotte! It won’t cause sun sensitivity, but we do still recommend wearing sunscreen everyday :)

Charlotte Cunningham on

Hi! Does this product cause any sun sensitivity? I know traditional retinol a can. Thanks

Hi Kristen! Thanks for your questions. You can use a gentle serum before using the mask, totally up to you! But since the mask is filled with its own actives, make sure to introduce it slowly to give your skin time to adjust. And if you want to use a moisturizer, use it on top after letting the mask dry. Eye creams can be used underneath the mask! Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out to if you need further clarification!

Hi I’m new to the night mask game and I’m wondering can I put moisturizer/eye cream over this?

Kristen on

hi! excited to try this mask. question for you: i know we cleanse, tone, essence before putting this mask on…so do we not put on a serum before the mask? and what steps do we do when we take it off in the morning?

cocokind on

Hi Kyra! Our sleep mask (like all of our products!) is completely nontoxic, but we always recommend showing the ingredient list to your doctor to make sure it’ll be safe for you specifically :)

Safe for breastfeeding or pregnant mamas?

Hi Tess! You can apply it under your eyes but avoid getting it in your eyes or on your eyelids. Hope this helps!

Tess on

The post mentions it’s good for dark circles, but later also says stay clear of eyes. Is it safe to apply on the under eye area or should we avoid altogether? Thanks!
