For the entire month of August, every online order will come with a free sample of our product of the month, the Chlorophyll Mask. If you don't already love this powerful green pigment, you will soon!
But first, here are some FAQs about this biomolecule and why we love it in our best-selling chlorophyll mask.
How does chlorophyll help our skin?
Chlorophyll delivers oxygen to our cells and increases circulation
Chlorophyll causes an increase in the production of red blood cells, which has a unique detoxification effect on the skin. This process also delivers additional oxygen to the skin, which activates the body's natural healing process. Oxygen is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and stimulates collagen production. This results in an increase in circulation, detoxification, and improved smoothness and radiance of our skin.
It is packed with vitamin A,C,E, and K
A vitamin-powered pigment, chlorophyll contains multiple vitamins that help improve the skin's texture, appearance, and overall health.
-Vitamin A: encourages cell growth and maintain's skin's elasticity
-Vitamin C: boosts collagen, evens skin tone, and lessens the appearance of dark spots
-Vitamin E: hydrates the skin and combats free radicals (which you can read more about here!)
-Vitamin K: heals wounds and neutralizes discoloration
Chlorophyll cleanses skin while reducing inflammation
Chlorophyll is also a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial biomolecule. For those of us who are acne-prone, this is incredible news! Anti-bacterial properties keep bacteria (and blemishes!) at bay, which means no new pimples.
In addition, chlorophyll's anti-inflammatory properties are beneficial for when you're dealing with an inflamed or irritating breakout, whether it be a breakout that is already at the surface of skin, or one that is still brewing in the deeper skin layers. Applying chlorophyll can help soothe skin and bring the inflammation down, allowing your breakout to actually reverse its course and start healing.
How do we use it?
As a detoxing and cleansing facial mask
Our mask is a combination of chlorophyll-packed ingredients: chlorella, spirulina, and wheatgrass (some of the most chlorophyll-rich ingredients that each have their own impressive benefits to boast!). When applied topically, our chlorophyll mask purifies skin, helps relieve breakouts, and brings out our natural glow! Simply mix a scoop of our mask with an equal amount of water to create a green paste. Apply the paste over your skin for 10-20 minutes, and then rinse off with cool water.
Our Chlorophyll Mask can be easily added to other ingredients to customize and cater to your skincare needs.
-If your skin is on the drier side, feel free to add moisturizing mixing agents such as our Cleansing Oil or even a mashed avocado!
-If you're dealing with stubborn breakouts, we love mixing honey or even yogurt (dairy or non-dairy, as long as it has live probiotics) to your mask.
-If you're sticking with water, you can always mix in less water for a thicker paste, which is great for breakout areas. Alternatively, mix in more water to dilute it to become a thinner paste, which is great for thinner areas of skin (like under the eye area) or for those with more sensitive skin.
As a liquid supplement
Add one scoop of the mask to a glass of water. Mix well until the color is evenly distributed. Drink for a superfood boost! As a liquid, chlorophyll helps stimulate your immune system, detoxify the blood with the production of red blood cells, alkalize the digestive system, neutralize odor, and aid weight loss.
As a detoxing bath mix
Mix into a warm bath to help soak and detox the body. Our Chlorophyll Mask’s organic spirulina powder contains powerful anti-aging components (like Vitamin E) and the organic wheatgrass powder is full of antioxidants. The organic chlorella powder is rich in proteins, vitamins, and antioxidants that are vital for repairing cellular damage, and the organic ylang ylang oil exudes a subtle, uplifting scent… that also helps to balance skin! If you're feeling more adventurous, quickly transform our mask into fizzy bath bombs (for an easy recipe, click here!).
